How to Troubleshoot & Replace Ge AP5806905 / WE04X20089 Timer

Order new timer and knob 

I replaced timer via a great "how to" video from your site! The part was back ordered to 2015 at G E parts you guys had the part in stock and got it to me in 2 days .......GE wanted $75..........you guys sent it to me for $44.00 incl shipping .....chatted and talked on phone with your experts ......Awesome experience! 

Working good. Very easy to do. 

Watched video--ordered part and replaced it.--total time 30 minutes 

I replaced both the timer knob and the timer. Took about 10 mins to replace everything. Watch the videos before, they were very helpful. 

Taking approx. 30 minutes using a phillips screwdriver and a pair of pliers, disconnect power source, unscrew (3) screws on rear of control panel, remove knob from front of timer switch, disconnected wires from back of switch, remove defective switch (type of quarter turn-spring clip holds switch in place), installed new switch (type of quarter turn-spring clip holds switch in place), reconnected wires to back of new switch (reverse of removal), install old knob on front of new switch, re-position control panel and re-install (3) screws in rear of control panel, reconnected power. 

Replaced the timer and control knob - took about 15 minutes total. Very easy to replace and anyone should be able to do it. Use a flat bladed screwdriver to remove the wires from the old timer, connect to the new timer, and put the cover back on. Easy repair and saves $$$. 

We watched videos on Youtube that helped us to realize that the timer was bad. We ordered the timer, put it in, and the dryer worked just fine but would not turn off. We then discovered that the dryer timer knob was cracked. We ordered the knob, replace it and the dryer has been working ever since :) 

Didn't see my part on your web site so I called and gave the customer service my model number and she said we have it , and I received it in two days. Great service!
