How to Troubleshoot & Replace Lg AP5681837 / FAB31741301 Screw (Customized)

We had a repair man come and tell us the needed repair at the cost of 70.00 I ordered the parts and saved money. 

Put new Pulsator Assembly on the washing machine Shaft.Ratchet and 10 mm socket is all it takes. 

I went online, llooked up the washing machine I have, looked at the parts list at Appliance Parts Pros, made the determination what I required and order the parts. 

Installed the new pulsator assembly. The only problem is when I ordered the new part nothing was said that it came with a new bolt assembly, and I had purchased a new one. The bolt was on around $3.00 so no big deal

It took me about five minutes to put a new one on and it works great 

I put it in myself and fixed it, It was not hard to fix. 

This repair was simple. The two main parts you need are supplied in the upgraded replacement pulsator and the retention bolt which comes pre installed. If you’re gentle you can salvage the pulsator cap. I was forced to replace the cap as well. I recommend cleaning the internal components with a brush and some bleach. Prior to installing the replacement pieces. This repair/replacement took two minutes. The parts arrived next day from Peoria, IL. Was simple and straight forward. 10mm socket and boom done. 

After removing the pulsator (agitator) it was evident the spline was very worn. Also from looking at the diagram the washer below the pulsator (agitator) was missing since manufacture. I ordered a new washer, pulsator (agitator). The new pulsator appeared to have a steel spline unlike the original pulsator, a new cap because the old one had been removed so many times to tighten the screw down that it wouldn't stay tight any longer. I believe the problem was that the missing washer contributed to the pulsator (agitator) to wear out prematurely. Thanks to AppliancePartsPros' diagram, I was able to order the correct parts especially the washer. Also I asked for next day delivery and sure enough, the parts came the next day!!! I also asked LG for reimbursement for the parts and I am still waiting for their response.
