How to Troubleshoot & Replace Lg AP7015078 / 6501KW2002B Washer Rotor Position Sensor Assembly

Installed new wiring harness, and rotor position sensor. 

Replaced Rotor Position Sensor Switch. 

Ordered hall sensor from appliancepartspros.com and received in 2 business days (Florida). Good pricing. Fairly easy replacement of defective part. Only need a few tools; Phillips, #10 and #17 sockets, 3/8" ratchet, and short extension. Works great! 

I ordered this rotor position sensor and replaced it, problem solved! It took about 20 minutes after watching a you tube video on how to get to the sensor. 

Because we thought it was an issue with the motor (Error Code LE) and it would have been covered by the manufacturer's 10-year motor warranty, we had a repair technician take a look at it. My YouTube efforts yielded the same conclusion but there's always a chance it could've been something else. It turned out to be the drum position sensor or rotor position sensor. It's a small plastic part that clips onto the motor assembly. The repair technician company offered to get the part and install it, and I was unwilling to wait another 2 weeks for that appointment. Appliance Parts Pros seemed to be a good fit so I called and spoke to a real person, gave the part number, and had it at my door in 2 days. 15 minutes to install the new part and the washer works flawlessly. Thank you APP! Front Load Washers are not as mechanically complex as you might think so please don't be afraid to tackle a simple project like this yourself. 

Watched a couple videos and it was pretty straight forward. Unplugged it, turned water off and removed back panel 4 screws, then removed the round magneto one single bolt holds it 17mm. Then you pull it off a little tricky because it’s held on with magnets. Then used my impact gun with a 10mm socket and removed 6 bolts that hold the sensor. Pulled it off and unplugged the harness that held the sensor and replaced it with the one I bought from you folks. Problem solved, works like new. Anyone with a little mechanical aptitude can do this job. Watch the videos very helpful. 

I searched and found that most LG wash machines with an LE error have a bad hall effect sensor. This was the 2nd time we had this problem. The first time was 7 years ago and we had a repairman fix it. It cost us $268. So this time I decided to replace the sensor myself. I watched the video on the AppliancePartsPros website and saw it was an easy repair. I ordered the sensor for about $35, it came within a week. I watched the video a 2nd time and did the repair. It took me about an hour total to move the washer, take it apart, change the sensor, reassemble it and test it out. It was as easy as shown in the video and cost me less than $50 total with tax/shipping.

I followed the video instructions and replaced the Rotor Position Sensor Switch. It worked like a charm. This was actually my 3rd repair using Appliance Parts Pros videos, 1 on my drier and 2 on my washer. The links on the website described the issues I was having in very specific terms so I was able to find the exact right repair video quickly and easily without having to search through a bunch of additional information. The repair videos were extremely well done. They were specific to my machines. They showed each step necessary to perform the entire repair and the quality of the videos was excellent with good lighting, clear images and good angles which helped me to find exactly what I needed to find. If Appliance Parts Pros website and videos weren't as good as they are, I probably would have ended up hiring 3 repairmen over the past year and I likely would have paid them several hundred dollars to tell me I needed new appliances. I'm guessing this website has saved me a couple thousand dollars. Thank you!
