How to Troubleshoot & Replace Lg AP4442054 / 6500JB2002T Freezer Temperature Sensor

Replacing the thermistor solved the problem. On-line video was helpful. 

With parts i ordered 

Replaced defrost sensor which is the controller assembly and error code gone 

Chatted in and got Tracy. They researched my problem after a couple of minutes, they recommended 2 parts - Freezer temperature sensor and Controller assembly. 

After verifying what the error meant, I found the Defrost Sensor Assembly. Watched your video and it seemed pretty easy to do myself. Empty frig, turned it off to allow any frost to evaporate. Followed the video, the only difference was I had an ice maker. Took me about an hour and frig is working great. Thank you for the help 

The defrost temperature sensor appeared to be intermittent. Sometimes the resistance was correct, other times it was open. Followed the very good instructive video and noticed the factory installed sensor was mounted incorrectly. The cardboard protective side was mounted against the evaporator coil. The video clearly showed and the gentlemen stated the clear side should be placed on the coil. That make sense. My fridge is slightly different then that shown in the video. Mine is a compact unit sans ice maker. There were 5 screws to remove the back panel, very easy to take it off and put it back. Was an easy fix.
