How to Troubleshoot & Replace Lg AP4440788 / 3485ED1002B Sump Assembly

Found a video on YouTube that helped by giving step-by-step directions. Fairly easy and not too time consuming. Dishwasher works like a charm again! 

Repaired by replacing sump unit. 

Originally the washer would not power on when the power button was pressed. I originally ordered a new controller and replaced it. Upon attempting the first wash I received alarm LE. I removed the sump assembly and upon removing the motor it was completely rusted on top. I went to order just the motor, however when seeing the price was so low for the whole assembly I purchased it, I installed the new one and the washer is like new again. This fix was very easy, except the new style sump has the turbidity sensor in a different location. The wiring harness is long enough if you take the white wire out of the plastic housing. It is easier to buy this and replace the whole sump rather than individual parts. 

I ordered the new assembly from AppliancePartsPros, and found an online video of the exact repair that I needed to make. I put a moving blanket on the floor so I wasable to move the dishwasher. It was easy! 

Replaced the entire sump assembly, now it works like a charm.
