How to Troubleshoot & Replace Lg AP5785599 / EBF61674802 Washer Lid Switch And Lock Assembly

Replaced it with the part I ordered from you guys. I had originally had LG come and check it out but they quoted me a price 250 plus tax. I said no way this little piece can cost 1/4 of the whole washing machine. So after finding your price, I you-tubed on how to replace it and I did in 20 min. Thanks youtube and thanks to you guys for such a great price on this switch assembly 

Unplugged the washer from electric power. Replaced the switch using screwdriver and puddy knife. Puddy knife to release the lid clips in front of washer. 

Replaced door lock assembly. 

Ordered the part and my washer is working. 

Ordered new part and installed it. 

Replaced lid lock. 

New lock assembly 

REPAIRED BROKEN WIRE. 

This switch malfunctioned when two months old....I fiddled with it and got it to work...then. We had already ordered a warranty repair.....but when the repairman came he brought the wrong switch...... Two years later same problem.....It was going to be a month for repair...so I decided to fix it myself. Ordered the part for $86....watched the video on You tube.....easy...right. Not so fast. To release the top of the washer...putty knife here, and there...wahlah.....nothing. Internet advise...."Not pushing on the knife...hard enough." I could see several male/female clips holding top.....against all the advise....I took a couple of screws out of the back...and pushed hard on top.....that was it....male/female clips cleared the top to open. The rest was fairly easy. My sweet wife didn't say thanks.....she reminded me that I chips those two areas where the putty knife didn't work. Good luck.... 

Ordered LG part. Google video on how to repair it. Nice and easy and it was fixed.
