How to Troubleshoot & Replace Lg AP4442090 / 6600JB1010A Refrigerator Door Switch

Took out old one put in new

Apparently these go bad every 2-3 years; this is the 2nd. 1st time sears charged me $150.00. I kept the part (just in case). When the switch went bad again, did a google search and found this site. Followed the directions and popped the switch in, all good. Had a little trouble getting the old switch out need pliers and a screwdriver. 

I removed the faulty light switch and installed the new light switch, using a screwdriver to depress the locking device and pulling out the old switch unit.. 

I checked out the AppliancePartsPros.com web site and found the exact Light Switch that I needed for my LG Refrigerator. I watched the video for replacing the switch which was very straight forward and a BIG help. I ordered the switch and received it in two days. I watched the video again and replaced the switch with ease. It works FANTASTIC. After removing the old switch, I took it apart and found that it was scorched. I'm really glad I replaced it. Prior to going to AppliancePartsPros.com, I had contacted LG and their response was that I needed to call for a service call. I'm glad I didn't call, it would have cost a lot of $$$$. I ordered two switches to keep a spare on hand and the cost with shipping was $20. Great price and an easy fix and fast delivery!!!! 

Pried it out with a small screw driver, plugged in new one and snapped it in place 

Replaced light switch. Super easy. Very fast shipping of the part. Repair took about ten minutes including trips up and down the stairs to the circuit breaker panel. The light works again! 

Ordered part from Appliance Parts , received with 3 days regular shipping and made an easy repair all for $15.00 . 

Took out old switch with a flat knife. 

Got the part from you guys, watched a youtube on how to do it and it worked perfectly. I am not a very handy guy, but this I was able to handle with no problem and I saved a bunch of money as the part cost me like $15.00 and it took me 30 minutes.
