I ordered a replacement and installed it. But it is still a poorly designed switch. I will replace the bulb with an LED bulb to lower the amperage draw and reduce damage to the contacts.
This is very typical of Kenmore appliances, they make a lot of money on repair.
The repair is simple. Only one small screwdriver is required to pop the switch out. Then just release the clips on the switch connector, pull the connector out and replace it into the new switch and pop the new switch into place.
I replaced the switch for $2 less, including shipping, than Sears wants for the switch. Sears also charges $6.95 for shipping to the Sears store. No wonder they're going out of business...
