I called Appliance Parts Pros and explained my problem and the things I had done to determine the consistency of the problem. The support person that I spoke with was very helpful and asked me some clarifying questions to make sure my problem was exactly what I thought it was. While on the phone I ordered the part and it arrive in just a couple of days. To replace the part sent to me I did the following:
1) unplugged the dryer
2) unscrewed the 2 screws on the back of the panel connecting it to the dryer body (philips head)
3) disconnected the two electrical connectors
4) unscrewed the screws holding both components down (both must be removed to get to the one that needed to be removed)
5) put the new part in place
6) screwed in the screws back in for both components
7) connected the two electrical connectors
8) screwed the 2 screws to connect the panel to the dryer body
9) plugged the dryer back in
10) Dried cloths
It took less than 10 minutes and it only required a medium size philips head screwdriver.
The initial help from the support at appliance parts pro made me feel confident that everything was going to work wonderfully before I ever got the part and it did.
