Shamish P Bellevue , WA May 13, 2015 My microwave started beeping at me one night it sounded like our son was just pushing the buttons but when i went in the ktichen to ask him what the heck he was doing noone was there! A quick Google Search revealed the solution. Cleaning the contacts on the ribbon cable would probably solve the problem. So, I pulled the ribbon out of the socket and cleaned it with a pencil eraser per the instructions on YouTube. Easy. Hmm...maybe I should use some contact cleaner on the ribbon to make sure it's really clean.... ..so after the ribbon cable dissolved, I started searching for replacement parts. I came across AppliancePartsPros on the web, but needed some help to make sure I got the right part. I called their customer service line at midnight my time (3:00 their time), and was greetaed by a very helpful associated who identified the parts that I neded, and took my order over the phone! He even aid not to worry if I did not need the parts, as they could be returned no hassle! My microwave works fine now, and I would highly recommend these folks for your parts needs. Mark A Elkgrove , CA December 09, 2014 Appliance: Samsung Microwave SMH9187W/XAA E5 code on my samsung microwave I removed the two screws from the top cover and took it off. (opps, I unplugged the MW first) I took out the one screw from the control pad and pulled it out. I snapped a picture of the wiring then removed the wires. I cleaned all the connections and reassembled. The code went away put not all the buttons worked. I called Appliance Parts Pro and talked them about my issue. They recommended replacing the touch pad. They gave me two options on the replacement parts. One was just the unit I needed, the other included the plastic cover. I choose the more expensive one which was still cheaper than what I saw on E-bay. I asked for normal delivery. not rush and was surprised when my part arrived 2 days later. It took 10 minutes to install the new control pad, and my wife is happy to report that I am still King of his castle. Thanks for the great service and advise. I am no electrician by any means but this job was easy thanks to the info I received. :) Read More... 1 People found this story helpful Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: Less than 15 minutes Tools: Screwdrivers

John H Findlay , OH September 11, 2016 Appliance: Samsung Microwave SMH9187W/XAA Se error code on screen and all functions stopped I did an online search and found many references to the membrane on the Control Panel Assembly being bad. Apparently what happens the 'brain' senses that more than one button is being pushed simultaneously, throws the error code and shuts down. Pulling and reinserting the power plug will reset, but in my case it would either beep 4 or 5 times and shut down again, or the microwave would start up by itself with no input. That could be a fire hazard. I ordered the control panel and had it by 7 pm the following day (standard delivery to Ohio). I installed the panel the following morning and it works perfectly. It is an easy repair. Just do an internet search on the microwave part number and there are lots of instructions. The panel comes out with 3 screws (2 for vent cover and 1 for the panel itself). Take a reference picture of the connectors on the back (6), remove the ribbon cable (see online instructions), remove screws from the circuit board and set it aside. Pop out the metal pan from the plastic control panel. Reverse the procedures to install the new control panel. It is a fairly simple repair if you are fairly handy and can use a couple of basic handtools. The time listed with this repair story only applies to the reassembly. It does not include the time to research, remove, and clean up the microwave door, and exterior panels. That probably added 1-2 hours to the overall repair, but it looks like new now! Read More...
