How to Troubleshoot & Replace Samsung AP5325311 / DE94-02001B Control Panel Assembly

I ordered a new Control Panel assembly and replaced it by watching a YouTube video. Very easy fix and works great now. 

Your company is not kidding when you say your order will ship the same day you place an order. I choose regular shipping and the part was sitting on my door step the next day before noon. As far as replacing the control unit, I had disassembled the unit twice before to try and fix it on my own before figuring out exactly what the problem was. So replacing the part was quite easy. 

Dissembled the control module and installed a new keypad 

First I took off the control panel and cleaned the ribbon cable with alcohol, but that only got the SE error to go away for about a month. This replacement part arrived very quickly and was installed in about 10 minutes. There are 2 screws on top of the microwave vent that must be removed first, then slide the vent to the left and open the door to fully remove the vent guard. Then remove the 1 screw above the control panel, slide the control panel up and then pull it away from the microwave. Disconnect all the cables, the ribbon connector has a lock that must be pulled up to remove the cable, the others all have clips. Take a picture to make sure you reconnect cables properly. Remove the 4 Phillips screws holding the circuit board and remove board. Gently bend the metal bracket inward on the sides to free it from the 4 clips. Then reverse the process to reinstall the new control panel. 

I ordered the control panel and switch membrane. Replaced the control panel and microwave works great! I'll be keeping the switch membrane just in case we have any more issues with our microwave. Shipping was insanely fast, ordered on a wednesday during lunch hour and received the parts the next day before lunch and hubby had the install done in just a few minutes! 

My Samsung over-the-range microwave started beeping on its own. Then a few days later "E5" was on the display and it was dead. I googled the error and found out the cleaning the ribbon cable sometimes fixed the problem, but I only wanted to work on it once. I saw post where the Control Panel Assembly was replaced to fix the problem. I ordered the part from AppliancePartsPros and choose standard shipping. The part still arrived in 2 days, and replacing the part was relatively easy. A lot cheaper the a service call or buying a new microwave. 

I researched the se code on line and found a video on you tube describing the problem and how to get it working again. I took control panel off and cleaned the connectors and then reconnected. It worked for 4 days then stopped. The microwave was originally $500 in 2010 but due to medical issues was not able to get it installed til 2013. I did not want to invest a lot in repairs (especially a repairman) so I found the part App;iancepartspro.com and ordered it for a total of approx. $44 The order came promptly. Replaced it in 20 Works perfectly. I was thinking I would have to pay around 400 for one at Lowes to get what would be comparable to what I now have. By the way, I am a 67 year old female. Researched on the Internet and found that the most likely cause was the control panel failing. A number of people were able to fix the issue by cleaning the ribbon cable. I tried this and the fix lasted a couple of months but came back. Tried it again and it did not work. Decided to replace the part and found it on Appliancepartspros.com. When I received the part, I noticed it was the control panel without the circuit board and was confused. Emailed Appliancepartspros and got CSR Brittany. She researched the problem and advised me that it was the correct part. She was also helpful enough to send me a video showing the fix. Armed with this information, I was able to complete the fix in about 15 minutes. Microwave is working perfectly now. 

Ordered the part and replaced it in about 15 minutes. I got instructions from YouTube. Very easy to do. 

After researching various blogs I replaced the control panel assembly. The microwave works great so far.
