How to Troubleshoot & Replace Samsung AP4221824 / DE63-00196A Grease Range Hood Microwave Filter 5-15/16" X 13-3/8" X 3/32"

I read from a previous online customer experience that the membrane needed to be replaced. I ordered the membrane and went on YouTube to learn how to remove the membrane. I replaced it and haven't had a problem. The microwave is working just fine.

I ordered the handle assembly, it arrived a few days later and installed in less than 5 minutes. I watched a youtube video first: unplug the microwave, open the door, pry out the plastic liner on the inside of the door, and remove the two screws holding the handle. Then install the new handle with the same 2 screws (*note: orientation matters, one side is shorter than the other and sits flush against the trim on the bottom front of door) popped the liner back in and plugged the microwave back in.

Person on chat was very helpful.Ordered parts around noon I think. had a tracking no by end of day parts in a few days. Much faster than I thought. Today started repair. New part and old part had the same number. There were 3 tabs that had to be removed with saw blade and metal frame had to be modified for new touch pad. if they have a new metal plate id prob order with the touch pad if I ever get error. will save your site if I need other parts if I did not need to modify id had finished in under 15 min had to go out to the shop to make changes that took mabe 15 min

Ordered the needed parts.

Replaced old one

Found the product numbers on the microwave and then found the the part I needed on your web site. Then ordered the part. The only negative I might add was the shipping costs. I needed the part but the cost to ship the very light filter screen seemed a bit high. But again, I needed the filter and it arrived fairly quickly.

Received filter replaced old filter all is good

Put in new filter.

Bought a replacement glass tray and filter online, received it 2 days later and replaced.

Very simple job! Gained access to old panel/motherboard, tilted out old panel/motherboard and disconnected all wires from microwave to motherboard, removed old panel/motherboard, disconnected motherboard from old panel, and then reversed steps starting by connecting motherboard to new panel, and so on.
