How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6008772 / WP37001036 Drum Glide Bracket

I did some research on the internet and found AppliancePartsPros.com. I found the parts I needed to complete the repairs and get the dryer back up and running. The parts arrived quickly and the how to do-it videos were a great help to me and gave me the confidence to make the repairs myself. 

I disassembled the front bulkhead and lower panel and noticed that one of the glides was hanging off worn almost all the way through and the other was gone completely. Having on experience with dryers other than changing an element, I did a little internet investigating and found that this is a common reason for grinding. Using the model number, I identified the part and it was available online. Parts arrived within a few days and 10 minutes later, the dryer was good as new. Thanks! 

Replaced the bracket on one side of the drum and replaced both glides and felt.Worked perfectly 

I went to appliance pro on line and keyed in the model # and the tech on a video showed me how to take it apart and fix it. I ordered the parts and had the parts within a few days.I mean we were seriously thinking of buying a new dryer for 400 bucks. But with appliance pros video and step by step instructions.......40 dollars and the dryer runs like new......might even get 9 more years out of it. Appliance pros is the way to go..........no home repair guy ...no big bill......just a screwdriver and a small socket set 

Thought it was probably the rear rollers for the drum, but turned out to be the idler pulley for the belt. Also found drum support glide pads for front of drum were worn out. Ordered parts and with help from video on APP had it fixed in about an hour. thank you APP for showing repair videos 

Disassembled dryer and found broken part. Order part form AppliancePartsPros.com and received it faster than expected. Was able to reassemble dryer the day the part was received. 

I ordered the parts I need (plus some other parts I figured I would replace while I had the dryer apart) from appliance parts pros. They had the best prices online, and when I couldn't remember the configuration for the belt when installing it. They had an easy step by step video right on the same page where I order the part. 

Watched your video then pulled it apart and replaced all worn parts 

Because the glides and the felt had failed, the drum was scraping on the glide brackets and wearing a groove in them. They would have worn through completely had I not completed the repair. I replaced both of the glide brackets, felt pads, and drum glides. The parts arrived quickly and were the correct parts. The videos online showed exactly what I needed to do. I took my time and took pictures of the wiring that I had to unplug and then replug as I reassembled everything. I'm not 'Mr. Appliance Repair Guy', but it wasn't difficult and I felt like I had enough instruction through the videos to complete the repair and not harm myself or the dryer. 

I've replaced the back rollers and bearings already so I know my way around the dryer. With it taken apart cleaned the surface and glued the felt to the dryer installed the new bracket and glides and put it back together with help of my son.
