How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP5951424 / W10728484 Bracket

Replaced the bracket that the ice dispense switch mounts on.. 

Ordered new bracket, watched video and fixed it 

The part was an exact fit. replaced it with no problems and it works fine.

After removing the trim panel I discovered the tabs on the mounting panel/bracket that held the switch were broken so I knew I needed a bracket and I suspected the switch was bad as it had noticeable scoring on one of the contacts. Watching the online video repair confirmed my diagnosis. I ordered the bracket and panel on Monday night. Both parts arrived on Wednesday and I replaced both in less than 15 minutes. Total cost, with regular shipping that arrived in two days was less than $50. It would have cost twice that just to have a repairman look at it. This was my second repair using Appliance Parts Pro and I'm sold. Great service, great videos, parts diagrams, instructions, everything you need to do it yourself and save hundreds. Replaced bracket that held solenoid . It was broken and the solenoid was just hanging. 

I replaced the bracket. 

Narrowed the problem to broken plastic posts within the bracket which holds the microswitch. Ordered the Bracket from AppliancePartsPros and replaced it. The front cover is a bit challenging to remove. You have to remove the upper panel with the controls and the overflow grille first, then the main panel by prying out the tabs at the bottom notches. The Bracket was easy to install.
