How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6014483 / WP99002825 Power Control Board Assembly

Easily found the part on APP.com website. Read what other's said about the repair and watched a you tube, it sounded easy. Part arrived in 2 days. Turned off the circuit breaker, opened the door, removed the inside door panel (8 screws), unplugged the connectors, removed 2 screws with nut driver, unclipped the plastic clips that hold the circuit board in ( the releases were on the bottom, no one pointed that out) snapped the new one in and it works like new. Very comforting to know that if it does not work out I can return the parts within 365 days so I do not have to hurry. 

Bought a new Pcb Assembly and replaced it. 

I looked for solutions on Google and came across this site. I read that this is a common problem with the control board. I opened up the front and inspected the control board. The blue (capacitor?) component had a burned lead and had disconnected from the board. I placed and order for a new board and after replacing it, the dishwasher started working again. I hesitated at first to buy a part of $210 without knowing if that would fix it but I saw that this vendor has a return policy of the board did not work. So while I thought the component was very overpriced, I went ahead and bought it. Only time will tell if it was worth the money, but I am glad it is working for now. 

After looking at several online forums, I speculated that it was the control panel. Because this part is pricey, I called a technician to make sure that it wasn't the motor. He diagnosed the PCB assembly but suggested I buy a new dishwasher instead of fixing it since in his words they don't make appliances to last. Mine is a high-end unit and I wasn't prepared to fork over the bucks to replace it, plus the machine was still in good shape. I ordered the part, it was shipped the same day and I got it two days later. I easily installed the unit using a YouTube video and it resolved my problem. I'm a DIY wife who prefers repair to replacement. 

Ordered new circuit board from Appliance Parts Pro removed old board took about 15 minutes and 5 minutes to install new board. As always part I ordered came quick and was what I ordered. 

Did all of the basic troubleshooting tests, breaker, door switches, thermal, and determined the main control to be bad. Searched for replacement, AppliancePartsPros.com was one of the few that had the parts, plus at the best price, so the parts and a new door latch handle were ordered online. The parts arrived UPS Standard Shipping the very next day !!!! So this fix was easy, and the timing was perfect, and being able to get the needed parts at a good price, the next day made this downtime very manageable. 

Removed and replaced Control Board and Door Latch Handle. Easy to removed front door panel and both the control board and door latch and replaced parts and unit worked with no issues. 

Replaced circuit board with new one. 

Could see burn marks on board, replaced is working good now 

Bought a new computer board and replaced it. whole job took about 20 minutes. Had star shaped screw driver on hand.
