How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6015706 / WPW10141671 Control Board

Went online, watched some YouTube videos. Looked up part number and ordered it. Paid extra overnight shipping. Had part next day by late afternoon and was drying clothes within 15 minutes...... So easy 

I purchased the control board and had it installed by my Heating and Air Conditioning guy and in less than 30 mins it was running again. I ran 3 loads so far and the dryer works great again, I don’t anticipate any more issues. It was a pricey part but much cheaper than a new dryer. I have had this dryer for 14 years, so there was some dust inside that he vacuumed out. Also, there was another smaller board next to this board that I did not see on any of the fix-it videos but it was not involved in this fix. 

I couldn't find a repair manual for my specific model, but other Duet dryer manuals all indicated that F-01 was a defective main control board. I located the board from the parts blow-ups, removed the top cover, took pictures of all the wiring, and removed the board, I verified that the part number matched what was in the parts list and ordered the board on Tuesday evening. It arrived Friday afternoon. I installed the board, connected the wiring and tested it. Everything worked properly, so I put the top cover back on and was done. Split between the two days, the repair took less than 30 minutes. The only hard part was getting a couple of the wire connectors to release (specifically the two connectors at the left of the board as it is pictured in the parts list). Some gentle persuasion with a pair of pliers solved that. 

First we ordered the small control board and installed it. Dryer still didn't work. We scheduled service with service tech, he told us it was the main control board. We ordered that part, put it in and DRYER WORKED! Wish we would have tried it ourselves before paying for service call. We still saved money over cost of "professional" installing. So glad you have parts at reasonable price!

REPLACED BOARD 

Initially, was able to solder the area on back of board, but it would continue to go out after a few usages. Reordered the entire board and replaced easily for self repair. 

Spoke with Appliance Parts Pros and ordered suggested parts, 24 hours later the part was in and dryer was working again! 

Looked at video, and replaced the Electronic Control Board. It is now working perfect.
