How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6010488 / WP67006249 Air Damper Control (Refrigerator)

Unscrewed the cover (just one screw using socket wrench), disconnected 4 cables, reconnected replacement part, re-covered unit. Done in < 5 minutes! Only 2 hurdles I had were: - green ground wire was difficult to pull off of old part. Had to use a small screwdriver to help pry it loose from connector. - while attaching one of the wires to the new part, I accidently pushed against the connector when it wasn't perfectly aligned, resulting in a bent connector pin ... with the result being the damper didn't appear to work. When I discovered the connector wasn't fully engage, I simply re-aligned the connecting pin which I had bent slightly, and everything worked as planned. Getting the part from Appliancepartspros.com saved me a bundle! (repairman estimated $250 for him to come out and swap it out). 

Replaced unit with a part I ordered from you. Youir turnaround was fast so no food was lost! 

This took me 3 orders from Appliance Parts Pros to get the correct part. The Model and Serial number was give, but worng part shipped. I took a picture of the part and together Appliance Parts Pros and I concluded the part I needed didn't match the Amana/JennAire specs. They were VERY helpful all along the way. So much so that I have actively recommended them to friends and family to "bookmark" their page.
