Joe Gawron October 16, 2018 We bought a damper control replacement, arrived and the wires are different. It seems that the wires on the old unit are the problem, because when we wiggled them, the damper would close and not stay open. The new unit only has black and red-the old unit has 4 more. How do we get these new wires?
1 Answer Joe, We seriously doubt the four additional wires are available, they're probably "foamed in" inside the cabinet walls. Try and get us the model and serial number off the production tag inside the refrigerator compartment, near the top of the ceiling on the left side wall(usually). We can check and verify and advise you of the proper part needed for your refrigerator. Thanks, Read More...
Steve Stewart July 09, 2018 for Model Number MZD2666KEW Fridge was running too cold freezing stuff. Pulled off cover to air damper control and the door was open, letting cold air in and then I found the spring unattached just sitting in the bottom. Is there a way to re-attach the spring? Seems like it is not deformed, but no idea why it came off or if it would stay on if reattached.
1 Answer Steve, the catch that holds that spring to the door may be broken, you would need to replace the damper assembly, part number is WP67006249 Read More...
Jeff August 07, 2017 for Model Number AMANA ASD2627KES My air damper door is opening and closing continuously. It does a lot through out the day, but not all the time. Is this a sign of a bad air damper control??
1 Answer Hello Jeff. Yes, if it continues to just open, then close, the damper is bad and will need to be replaced. Thanks. Read More...
Lex F December 29, 2013 for Model Number MCD2257KES Freezer is working fine but refrigerator side not cooling.
1 Answer Lex, You will want to pull the cover of the damper assembly in the refrigerator compartment and make sure that the damper door is open. If the damper door is not opening then the damper is most likely faulty and would need to be replaced. Also check to make sure that the evaporator fan motor is running and that there is no frost building on the rear wall of the freezer compartment. If there is frost building then the issue would be a defrost failure in which you will want to test the defrost heater and thermostat for continuity. If either does not have continuity then that part would need to be replaced. If they both check ok then the defrost control would need to be replaced. Read More...
