How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6019682 / WPW10329686 Refrigerator Door Cam

Ordered the upper and lower door cams - both live on the hinge at the bottom of the door. Repair took just a few minutes. Four 5/16 machine screws need to be removed and replaced to complete the repair. My door is slightly different from the one in the video. One thing that I learned from the video was to prop up the door with a block of wood before starting repair. I don't think I would have thought about that if I hadn't watched the video. For that reason alone, I buy my parts from AppliancePartsPros.com. 

Replaced lower and upper door cams. Works great now. Repair video was very helpful and parts arrived in 2 days with standard shipping. 

After researching for possible fixes to the problem, we determined the door closing cams were worn and needed to be replaced. Appliance Parts Pros made it easy to locate the exact parts for our refrigerator model. After placing the order, the parts arrived in less than a week. We were able to easily replace the cams after watching an instruction video on YouTube. 

I looked at the bottom hinge bracket. I could tell that the plastic 'cam' nubs were worn down flat. My fridge is a KitchenAid KSBS25INSS01 with the adjustable nut for fridge door height on that bottom hinge bracket. Watch the video on how to support your door and take off the hinge, it saves tons of time. This took me like 15 minutes tops. Door cam part # AP3046922 fit perfectly into the bottom of the door itself. The cam part that fits on the hinge bracket is discontinued, but use part # AP5644987. You will have to open up the smaller "guide" hole with a 3/8" diameter drill to fit over the guide post of the hinge. The "pivot" post hole is already the exact size. Part # AP4032045 was NOT the correct piece for my fridge. Put it all back together and it works perfect! Just like new! 

By replacing some hard plastic bushings or 'cams' in the door hinges, Top and bottom one. 

Found the parts in the diagram of my fridge and simply installed it very easy 

Purchased Kenmore door cam and installed it as per video. Very easy because of "trick" on video to support the door with a wood block. Took about 10 minutes. 

Replaced the diffuser , pretty simple to replace. Replaced door cams as they were worn and the door was not closing on it's own . 

Replaced door cams on the lower hinge. 

I installed the lower cam (2 pieces). Door now closed without effort. Just remember to empty the door first.
