How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6010824 / WP74003019 Oven Bake Element

Following the instructions on the video 

Very simple fix; turned off power to stove, removed door by opening to first stop (broiling position) then lifting off hinges, took out racks......then simply used philips screwdriver to remove screw on each end of bake element flange...then slowly pulled it out until wire-ends were exposed, just pull off the wire-connectors and reverse the install with the new element. Took about 10 minutes total. 

I ordered online. Part arrived in2days Installed in 5 mins. Worked perfect 

Ordered part Monday am; Fed Ex delivered part Tuesday afternoon. Can't beat that. Throwed breakers at breaker box, removed two screws from rear wall of oven, pulled element out just enough so could unhook electrical wires (one wire on each side), attatched electrical wires to new element, reinserted element into oven wall, screwed both screws back in, reset breakers. Turned oven on & works great! I did watch video first instead of just diving in head first so would get an idea of what to do. Wife disappointed because she thought she was going to get a new stove. This one is almost 19 yrs old. Told her to take the difference between what this part cost us & what they wanted locally & go to WalMart. Wife is happy; I'm happy. Thank you AppliancePartsPros.

I called my son who came over and found that the lower element was not heating. He suggested that we look online for a replacement. We found the right one and ordered it that day. To my surprise, I received the part in just a couple of days! 

After watching the video it really was as simple as described. Five minute job and I had an oven again. I am always in support of buy local. But, in this case, local was an aftermarket part with double the price tag. 

Ordered a new element . Which was in stock and received it in less than two days and installed it in less than 10 minutes . 

Ordered part. Arrived in 2 days. Turned off stove breaker at panel. Removed old event. Installed new element. Turned breaker back on. Less than 15 minutes total.
