How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6010824 / WP74003019 Oven Bake Element

Part perfect fit. less than 5 minutes to repair 

I shut the electricity off at the fuse box. I then removed the Door and Racks from the Oven to facilitate more access to the inside of the Oven. I removed the two plates holding the Bake Element secured to back wall inside the Oven. (Two Phillips Head screws). I disconnected the electrical spade connecters and removed the Baking Element making sure I did not let the Female connecter fall back into the insulation. I used two locking pliers one on each side to hold the Female connecters, while I placed the New Element in each connection. I suggest that you might want to wear a pair of gloves while installing the Elements , the metal securing plates edges are quite sharp and you could cut yourself while handling them. 

Got the part in 3 days. Didn't unplug stove. Removed the old one very slow and touched the side of the back and blew a fuse. Reset the fuse and tried to take both wires out. First side came out with an extra 4 inches of wire.. 2nd side could not get the wire out to the clip. Pulled hard and it disconnected, then had to pull the stove outand take the back off. Found that the wire in needed, needmore slack because the wire was rapped around the other wires in error. Fixed that and put everything together and stove works GREAT. Thanks alot, G JSchmitz 

Replaced the oven bake element. The video is a good help if someone has not done this before. Simple repair, saves a lot of money. Just don't forget to unplug the range! 

My husband looked up and ordered a new element. We received it in a couple of days. It took less than 15 min to fix??
