How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6024125 / WPY04100019 Element, Bake

Two screws, two wires, 5 min., done 

Two screws...five minute repair. 

Removed two screws holding element in place, unplugged the old element. Plugged in new unit finished by reinstalling the two screws. Job finished. 

Got new bake element and replaced it. It works fine now. 

Removed old element and replaced new element. We watched a self repair video before replacing. 

TURN POWER OFF !! REMOVE TWO SCREWS.. PULL ELEMENY OUT FAR ENOUGH TO DISCONECT THE TWO WIRES.. REMOVE OLD ELEMENT AND INSTALL NEW ELEMENT IN REVERSE ORDER.. 

I checked power to oven and range and found it was good. I then removed power and inspected the ovens elements. The lower baking element was burned and cracked. I removed the two screws holding the element to the rear of the oven, disconnected the spade clips and took the element out. A portion of the element disintegrated as it was removed. The problem was obvious. I then went on-line to ApppliancePartsPros , located our Jenn-Air model, found the correct illustrated parts breakdown where I found the correct part number. I ordered a replacement lower baking element. The second morning after ordering the part it was delivered. I installed the element in reverse order from its removal, applied power and tested. That evening we were making a holiday cake. By the way I am a double amputee.
