Patricia D Raleigh , NC May 02, 2015 Appliance: Jenn-Air Self Cleaning Slide-In Downdraft Electric Range S125-C Bake element broken on jenn air model s125 downdraft slide in range Ordered Bake Element, Y04100019 (Whirlpool AP4283614) to replace a broken bake element on my 30-year old Jenn-Air Model S125 Downdraft Slide-in electric range. Received the element very quickly but it had been damaged in shipping. Called AppliancePartsPros to report this and they quickly shipped another element - very easy process. To install the element, I turned off the power to the range, put on rubber gloves (just in case) and removed the two sheet metal crews at the rear of the oven - had to also use needle-nose pliers to pull the screws out as they had rusted. I gently pulled the old element forward 2 to 3 inches to get at the wires and then wrapped pipe cleaners tightly around the wires to prevent the wires from getting lost behind the oven wall. To remove the old element, while holding the heating wire exiting the baking element with needle nose pliers, I carefully removed each female Faston connector wire from the element and eased the wires apart at the metal connectors. To connect the new element I used needle nose pliers to hold the heating wire behind the male Faston connector wire from the oven while installing the female connector clips from the element. I then tested the connections to make sure they were on tightly, removed the pipe cleaners, pushed the wires back into the oven wall, replaced the two screws and turned on the power. Took about 30 minutes. As another reviewer suggested, I then turned on the oven to a high temperature for 10-15 minutes with the door partially open to get rid of the new heating element odor. Very simple process, even for a grandmother. Read More... 32 People found this story helpful Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 15-30 minutes Tools: Pliers, Screwdrivers
Judy C St. Louis , MO October 28, 2016 Appliance: Jenn-Air Self Cleaning Slide-In Downdraft Electric Range S120-C No the bake element and clock knobs were fine I had a friend watch the video and do the work. There was a problem in that the screws were rusted to the back plate and would not screw off. My friend had to use a drill to drill through them to be able to remove them. He had to go to a hardware store to buy a new set. Once we had the new screws it went fairly quickly. Now our oven works great just in time for baking season. Kimberly T Oldsmar , FL January 02, 2021 Oven was not heating up to desired temp At first I called an appliance repair company to come out & repair my oven; mistake! The guy told me that my Jenn-air range was old & I needed to get a new one. He also lied stating that they didn't make parts for it any longer; another lie! I went searching on line & found your website & entered my problem & appliance info. Your site indicated that it could be the heating element, so I began looking @ my ovens heating element & it looked like it wasn't in the best shape. I ordered the part, which was delivered the next day & had my teenage son install it. He viewed a "how to change an oven's heating element" on U-tube & completed the task in about 10 mins & the only cost was for the part. My oven works great now. Thank God for your website & Youtube! Who needs an over-priced, lying repairman anyway! Read More... 1 People found this story helpful Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: Less than 15 minutes Tools: Screwdrivers
