How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6017074 / WPW10207397 Oven Heating Element

Unscrewed the old element and screwed in the new element. It was only two screw and super easy. 

Simple procedure requires the removal of two screws and disconnecting the two wire leads. Total repair time was about ten minutes to remove and replace heating element. 

I entered the oven product number and description. The website showed the exact product I needed. I viewed the video and perfect instructions were a great help. Easy peazy. Makes me feel like a professional. Women can do repairs too and save money. As long as the breaker is off and caution is taken to prevent the wires from falling behind the oven wall.

Watched YouTube videos that provided info on what components might be bad (heating element and temperature sensor were the suggested culprits) and how to remove/replace them. Very helpful info provided by those videos (you all should consider putting a pointer to those somewhere in the box!) Ordered parts and did the repair. 

Watched repair video ( to avoid any surprises), double checked burner part number / photo online, and ordered .. in in less than 2 days. Disable oven breaker (220VAC) at main panel. Easy two screw disassembly and replacement. Be sure to do a heat precheck with oven open for a few minutes to burn off any protective coating from the new burner coil. Works great .. easy repair! 

Ordered the new element. It was a fifteen minute job from the time I shut off the power, unscrewed the old element and replaced the new element, then turned the power back on. Part was delivered on time, was the right part, and worked perfectly! I am very happy with AppliancePartsPros.com.
