How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6009347 / WP4391960 Dryer Heating Element

The part was a perfect fix and was simple fix 

Troubleshooting confirmed the heating element was bad. I replaced this part. The repair went rather smooth (I spent more time troubleshooting just to make sure I had the correct part). I found the how-to video on the Appliance Parts Pros website to be quite helpful. 

Replaced it 

I removed the top of the dryer and the back I also watched the video witch made it easy it took ab out twenty minutes.everything works fine. 

I replaced the Dryer's heating element.

I looked at the dryer and took the panels off and cleaned the dryer. I would ahve never cleaned the lint and it looked like it had never been cleaned even on e in those years. I eventually found one of the coils or elements in the heating element broken and ordered the part. I was simply amazed that the part arrived so quickly via FED EX and I was back in action in three days. I held off repairing one day, but repaired it for about $26.00. saved a lot of money and back to do the clothes again at home. I think that there was a potential fire hazard with so much lint so I am glad the element broke and I got to clean it and prevent a potential fire. I owned the dryer for only one year, but cleaning your dryer yearly is an important maintenance item. 

Ordered a heating element and replaced it 

Ordered new parts and replaced the old. Easy fix. 

We googled possible problems, followed directions and started with the heating element as once removed, the original coil was obviously broken.
