How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6014379 / WP99001791 Pump Filter

It was a easy fix. 

Replaced the filter. 

First took apart to confirm broken pump impeller. Indeed it was. Ordered the pump/impeller kit. Waited 6 days for it to arrive. Installed kit as shown on video. Believe it or not had an extra part, a flat plastic 5" disc which showed its self upon removal. Has extra washer after was done. Was for temp sensor change out. Had an old boss tell me if if ain't broke, leave it alone. I did. No problems. 

Placed containers in the racks to check sprayer output. Watched the repair videos on removing the spray arms, upper and lower. Removed the arms and cleaned the spray ports plugged with calcium. Reassembled and ran the washer, after placing containers in the racks to catch the water checking output. Still not enough water, in the upper rack. Watched the video on replacing the pump filter. The filter was extremely plugged with calcium. Installed a new filter plus the upper spray arm. Problem solved. The videos and the illustrated parts breakdown diagrams were a great help. Tip: Pressed a socket (5/16?) over the 4 prongs of the snap-in connector on the upper arm to release the connector. 

Clean spray arms, and replace pump filter. 

Followed instructions from your video on your web site 

Checked U tube video fro repair, bought the part and exchanged it. Works 100% again. 

Replaced water inlet valve, Had to pull dishwasher out from under counter to unplug power cord. Tipped washer on its side making access to valve much easier to replace. 

I replaced the clogged filter in the pump section. 

By replacing the filter, the problem has improved greatly
