How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6011741 / WP8181859 Control Knob

I ordered the door switch assembly and that did the trick. I installed it just as the video instructed. I was back washing clothes in no time because the install of the door switch assembly only took 15 min. I had also ordered the door strike just in case but did it turned out I did not need it. I had also ordered the door handle and the control knob for my model since they were both cracked and needed to be replaced. Changing these parts out took no time at all and the videos on how to change these parts helped. 

Replaced ccu 

Open the pkg. and pushed it on one great plus part was here the next day , really supprised. 

Used an ohm meter on the heating element to diagnos it. 

Simply pushed the new one onto the shaft 

Simple repair, just pushed the new Control Knob on the small stud 

The replacement part I ordered from AppliancePartsPros.com was the exact knob that was on my washer. It was very easy to replace the part. I was able to just push the knob in place on the washer. No tools were necessary. 

With a few small parts and a screwdriver. 

The control knob fit the machine. All I did was push it into place. 

I ordered a replacement control knob for my Whirlpool Dryer. Part was received within a week of my ordering it and promptly put on the dryer. Whew........I'm back in business!
