How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6009659 / WP53001905 Halogen Oven Lamp (Single)

Followed the "How To" video provided by PartsPros online. Very easy watching the process first! Removed the light lens with screwdriver, unplugged the burnt out bulb, inserted the new bulb, replaced the light lens, plugged the unit back into power supply. Just like new! 

Ordered new LED light, plugged it in the socket , and “ there shall be light “! 

Replaced 

By ordering a new bulb, unplugging the microwave, putting in the new bulb and plugging it back in. 

Removed cover and replaced bulb. 

Purchased replacement bulb and installed it. Very easy 

Simple 10 minute fix. Two screws in the top panel over the door. A simple clip pushed on to release the light housing. Rotate it carefully so as not to pull on the connection wire. Remove bulb and replace. 

Got the owner's manual to see if there was a spec for the light since the lettering was not readable. No luck with the manual. Went to Home Depot to see if they carried the light - again no luck. Went on line and found the light designation. AppliancePartsPros.com had the light in stock as well as the Charcoal Filter that the owners manual mentioned should be changed on a regular basis. This is an old Maytag cabinet mount microwave. I ordered the parts online Tuesday morning and received them Wednesday evening. Nice job AppliancePartsPros! 

When trying to find a replacement door latch for my Maytag microwave (2004) live website customer service told me that I would need to order an entire door to fix the problem! The website also told me that this part was not compatible with my Maytag microwave. The website picture and measurements matched my broken part exactly, so I figured it's worth a shot for only $4 for the replacement part. The part was shipped quickly, and with a little elbow grease, I got the part installed under 5 minutes no problem! ....And I am a girl! :-)
