How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6018386 / WPW10275768 Door Latch

First I went to AppliancePartsPro.com and searched my part by model number. Next watched the short "how to" video. The ordered parts arrived in a few days. The replacement part fit precisely. My wife was very happy. 

I ordered the e board but did not fix it, the panel cntl did it. The ribbon wires on the panel cntl burnt. In the process I also checked the door latch and I replace it too. Now all my wash cycles and button works. I returned the e board and my money was return promptly. Shipping was fast 2 days for regular shipping. Thank you Joe 

Researched the problem on the intetnet and determined that the most likely part was the door latch switch. Ordered a new switch. My son installed in about 10 minutes including getting the tools and putting them back. You tube videos made very simple! 

Open the circuit breaker to the dishwasher, fully open the door, remove a few screws (need torx bit set), shift the inner cover out of the way, unplug the electric switches, reverse steps to install the new assembly. 

Obtained new switch and used the video to help me replace. Most challenging was reinstalling handle on the new switch. 

Installed a new door latch after watching your repair video. It made it easy, took me about 30 minutes. My dishwasher is 15 1/2 years old this is the only repair. 

Reviewed the repair video and ordered the part. Be sure to order the one that includes the handle. 

I looked at the label to get model number and placed in the search bar of the website. It pulled up several diagrams with a parts breakdown. I identified the part and placed order. Delivery was quick and part replaced with no problems. It works great. My only concern was when the diagrams pulled up it was for a Whirlpool. I was reluctant to order but took the chance since it visually looked identical. All I know is its working and the wife is happy. 

The part I ordered was a perfect fit, and peace is restored to out dishwasher.
