How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6018386 / WPW10275768 Door Latch

Ordered part, watched video explaining process, followed easy step by step instructions, and within 30 minutes dishwasher was back in business. 

Followed your tutorial video and did it 

Replace latch and strike 

New door latch 

Replaced the latch, which happened flawlessly. 

Removed the inside door panel and replaced the part. It took about 15 minutes. Very simple 

I removed the panel on the inside of the door and switched out the door latch assembly. 

My JennAir dishwasher is about 14 years old. Suddenly the door would close and seal, but not latch, so it could easily open even while running. I figured I needed a new door latch. I found a part on your website, but was a bit leary because 1) my dishwasher does not have a door handle, and 2) the part number did not match exactly. But the repair video made me believe that the part would work, and it did. The job took about 10 minutes and fixed it completely. I order the part on a Saturday afternoon and it arrived on Tuesday, so I appreciate the fast delivery as well. 

Found information on this site stating that the door hinge is most likely the problem. Entered model number and found part and ordered it. There was also a video showing the steps to replace that I found very helpful. Received the part in a couple of days and installed it. Happy to say it fixed the problem saving me several hundred dollars. So happy I found the site and will always use when any appliance needs fixing.
