How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6021486 / WPW10443885 Door Latch

We bought a new door latch and installed it, worked perfectly fine after that! The only hard part is getting the clamp back around the rubber gasket. That took a youtube video, two people, and a little bit of olive oil to make it slide. 

Watched a how to replace video. Simple to replace. Took about 40 minutes.

Gotta love a washing machine that actively TELLS you what is wrong with it. It was throwing a latch code. I needed a torx screwdriver which I had, luckily. The only trick was getting the band clamp back on. I got it wide enough using two hands and used my son's two hands to push it into place. Saved myself hundreds, I think!
