How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP3094500 / 285671 Lid Switch Assembly

Tested lid safety switch. It was bad. Received part and replaced. No problem 

Replaced switch and changed out agitator dogs while I was at it. 

Watched how to video on how to replace. looked easy enough, video coverd all the details very well. Part was reasonably priced so I thought I'd give it a try. It looked doable for an 80 year old female. Ran into a few little snags but went back to the video and was able to figure it out.m Voila.. Success. It took almost an hour to do including time to go back and review video a few times. If I had to replace another I could do it in 15 minutes. Hardest part was figuring out how to replace the housing back on the flange & pegs correctly. 

Ordered a new lid switch which was easy to install and Washer worked perfectly after that!! 

Replaced Lid Switch 

I googled my problem, found the answer to replace the lid switch, ordered the part. Received the part very quickly. I reviewed the video and did the replacement single handed, put everything back together, and every thing works perfectly! A+ on great directions! 

Replaced the old lid switch with a new one I purchased at AppliancePartsPros.com. 

Received the lid switch in a short time. The only problem was the most obvious. We removed the body, removed the old lid switch. We only had to get the body back on. Well a few cuss words and several bruises found what we needed to put it back in the EXACT reverse that we took it off. DUH! 

Installed a new lid switch. 

After receiving the part. I installed it and put the wash machine back together. I saved a lot of money by fixing it myself and avoided purchasing another washer.
