How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6047972 / W11043011 Module

Found the exact replacement led light. One simple screw and re placed the led light. Perfect replacement part. Thanks 

Quick Google search found this a common failure for light module. Repair took less than 5 min. 

Replaced Led light module. 

I got the light module within a couple days. I didn't need to unplug the icebox for this part swap. Using a short phillips screwdriver I removed the single screw holding the light lens cover and easily removed the cover. Two tabs held the light module in place, using my fingers I moved and gently pulled the module off. Unplugged the quick connector, placed new module in place. Plugged it in, snapped it back in place. Put the lens cover in place, screwed in screw. Good as new 

Plug out, plug in. … 

Initially, I had called Whirlpool, and asked the "customer service" person for the part number of the LED light. The individual stated that he could not find the part number even after I supplied the serial number and everything to him, but he was willing to find a technician to come out and fix it for a fee. I informed him that I would find the part myself and fix it. I went on line to AppliancePartsPros.com and within five minutes found the part, ordered (paid extra for the fast FEDEX delivery due to the nature of the strobing). The part came in Friday afternoon as promised. I unplugged the fridge from its power source. It took some extra time to get the philips screw out of the light holder (wasn't hand tight), but once that was done, the entire process took less than five minutes. Happy customer for life! 

Viewed a youtube to understand how to remove the light module and ordered the light module. The light module was different than my unit but luckily the two LED light strips were removable and the same so I made the repair using the new light strips. 

Unplugged the appliance and removed the light module cover and light. Replaced module and installed cover. 

I replaced the LED Light Module. 

I called AppliancePartsPros.com. I gave the model # of the "fridge" and described the problem. The man quickly found the part # and directed me to the order form. The whole thing took 2 minutes. The part arrived, and it was the correct replacement. We installed it ourselves; probably saved hundreds of dollars by not calling a repair person. GOOD JOB!!! THANKS!
