How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6013604 / WP902899 Wax Motor (Dishwasher Rinse Aid Dispenser)

The part came within 48 hrs. and took only 15 min. with a screwdriver and pliers. Works great now and repair cost 1/4 of a service man to come then tell me this was the repair needed then the cost of their part and time to put it on. 

Removed inner door panel and replaced burned out solenoid and replaced latch seal as some moisture was getting in. Cleaned things up -Reassembled door and maybe good to go for another twenty years. This machine does not have a 300 dollar electronic board like all the new ones and still does a great job for me. 

Replace defective motors in the inner door panel. replace dispenser door latch and gasket for leak. 

I replaced the motor that ejects pin to open the soap dispenser 

Replaced defective actuator. 

This website was awesome and easy to use. Got on. Looked up my dishwasher by the model number. Found the part. Got it the next day. And boom. It was fixed. Made a DIY nothin but a thang. I will definitely shop here again if the need arises. 

The cover with the soap dish was held in place by seven screws easily removed with a hex key. The wiring harness prevents removing the cover and setting it aside, so it can simply be folded back to sit on the door. The old wax motor pulls out and two wire connectors can then be removed. The connectors fit tightly, so they don't just slide off - a little effort is needed. The new motor is then installed by reversing the process. It is an easy process that anyone would be able to complete. The dishwasher is 20 years old and this is the second time I have replaced the wax motor.
