Todd F Wellsburg , WV January 20, 2016 Appliance: Maytag Atlantis Washer MAV7257AWW General overhaul of a 14 year old machine Model# MAV7257AWW Maytag Atlantis Washing Machine. Repairs were fairly easy along with the videos appliancepartspros offers on their website. Parts also came with instructions on how to install. Other videos were available on You Tube. The only part difficult to install was Thrust bearing kit - make sure when installing to pull down on shaft so washer and e-clip will fit. Another note, you can get a pulley for your replacement motor pulley on eBay and Maytag.com. Just pay close attention to make sure it specifies your machine and motor model. a Oh, and don't forget to replace the belt like I did when doing an overhaul! Overall great experience! Ping J Southborough , MA June 15, 2021 Appliance: Maytag Top Loading Washer SAV515DAWW Loud noise like jet engine during fast spin I suspected the main bearing had worn out, and I was right. It is a difficult job, because I am retired, I had the time. During disassembly, I found the hub had rusted really bad, it needed replacement. I did not buy special tools. The manufacturer repair manual says to use three OEM tools, I made some tools with wood. Simon's video is a big help. Now the washer is quiet, time will tell how good a job I did. This is the first time I opened up a washer, the second time would be much easier. Timothy D Anaheim , CA May 15, 2020 Appliance: Maytag Atlantis Washer MAV7000AWW Washer was making a lot of noise and leaving black junk in the tub Replaced the tub seal. Buy the updated tub seal kit. The old plastic shaft seal is not needed if you get the updated tub seal kit. First of all, after spending 3 days trying to get the metal hub off using wd40 acetone, atf, torch, pipewrench, don't waste your time. If the metal hub doesn't come off fairly easily, it's probably not going to. It's made out of soft aluminum so you can just drill through it and break it. BE CAREFUL NOT TO DAMAGE THE SHAFT THREADS. Keep your drill bit away from the shaft threads. Once that's off the rest is easy. Just watch the videos. I used a 10' pipe wrench on the inside of the tub and a 20' pipe wrench to hold the transmission from spinning. But like I said, that didn't work even after banging for hours. So much easier to drill the metal hub. Also, be careful not to drill too deep and damage the inner tub. Once you've drilled a few holes, you can use a chisel or a cutoff wheel to carefully cut and break it. Read More...
