How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP4009009 / 12001656 Oven Temperature Sensor

Replaced the sensor in the oven. Very easy on this and other models with this sensor-- just two screws holding it in place and a plug-n-play connector on wires leading from it. No need to call a repair service. 

I searched the internet with the model number of my stove for similar issues. I found a couple of articles that talked about replacing the oven temperature sensor. I watched the video on your site and then clicked to order the part. When it came, I had it swapped out and working like new in 15 minutes. By the way, I'm a 57 year old women and this is my first appliance repair. :-) 

My wife set the self cleaning on the upper oven of Maytag Gemini double oven electric range...when we returned home the codes F1-1and F1-3 were flashing..after going to Internet I found Appliance Parts Pro with a wealth of info and videos...decided to order the $30 heat sensor and see that was the issue..Perfect!! 2 screws and a connection. Literally less than 15 minutes...part was at my door on day 2..love em.!!! 

Replaced upper relay (circuit) board. At the same time I replaced the temperature sensor in the upper oven also. Both parts had been replaced previously, although for different problems. Oven is a 1995 product, so repeat failure is probably not a big surprise. I preheated the oven to a couple of different bake temperatures with no problem. Then, I ran it through the auto-clean cycle, worked fine. Oven has since been used for a couple of pizzas and baked potatoes. So far, so good. 

I happened upon the video when researching the problem. The video was perfect. My son watched it and then installed the part. Took about 15 minutes. Loved the trick of putting something on the wires so they didn't slide back into the stove. Thanks, 

Replaced bake unit and temp sensor

Oven was overheating. Ordered temperature sensor unit. Unplugged oven. Removed 2 screws holding sensor inside the oven. Removed 4 screws on rear cover of oven. Unplugged old sensor and removed. Inserted new sensor from inside oven and guided wire through insulation (took 2 people, one in oven and one on back side.) Plugged in new sensor and replaced screws inside and outside oven. Plugged in oven and tested. 

I watched Service Technician Matt's video, ordered the parts suspected to be needed, removed the old parts (the heating element had two complete breaks), installed the new parts per Matt's demonstration, and operated the oven once reassembled. Oven worked perfectly. Thank you! 

After sliding the door up off of hinges the hinges were replaced by removing side panels on side of the range to access two screws on both sides. Replaced hinges and touchpad/clock panel model. Generally pretty easily replaced by removing four screws from the side and under the touchpad panel. Then unplug the wiring from the old touchpad module, taking care to note where the wire will be plugged back into new module. Special note! The touchpad module part is listed for two prices that significantly different, one for ~$300 and one for ~$800. Both modules at these two prices were described as being the same and recommended both for my Jenn-Air model number. Of course, I ordered the $300 module and it works great. Not sure why there are two prices for the same item?????
