How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP5985756 / W10810104 Control Panel (Console Assembly)

Part replaced, total time 30 min, works great 

Got a replacement Control Panel Assembly. 

I searched for a solution matching the symptom which pointed me to the control panel. I ordered the part and received it within 2 days. It took me about 15 minutes to remove the screws securing the control panel, disconnect the control board and switch unit, and reconnect everything. The dishwasher started just like it should. The whole process was very smooth from identifying the right part, ordering, receiving and installing. 

New control panel ordered and arrived in two business days. Very easy to find part on appliance parts web site. Popped out the bad panel and installed new panel in five minutes. Dishwasher fired right up. Works perfectly. Saved me $500 over buying a new dishwasher. Appliance Parts Pros is always my first stop for parts. 

My dishwasher would no longer start. A few of the lights would come on but the start button would not do anything. Online I found plenty of people with the same issue and bought a new control panel. It comes with the plastic housing and membrane keypad only. Remove the small Torx screws, pop off the old panel, remove the electronics modules that pop-in/out and pop them into the new panel you bought. I set mine up on a stool so it was easier to work on. Remember the final protective cover and screw the panel assembly back in. DW now works like new and if fixed the problem. Appliance Parts Pro is great. I ordered overnight shipping and it was still less than buying locally. I receive it the next day and fixed the DW that afternoon. 

Troubleshooted (with the help of online video) to eliminate the most common causes of thermal fuse, door switches and control board none of which were the problem. Ordered and installed a control pad which fixed the problem. 

My Maytag MDBH949AWB1 dishwasher quit working on me. The control selection lights would work, but the start button wouldn't. I opened the panel up and tested the switches for continuity. All were good, and it was getting power. I researched the problem online. I found that someone else had the exact same problem. One of the Pros answered the question saying to replace the control board. I ordered the part Sunday night, choose standard shipping, and it was at my door on Tuesday. It took me 5 minutes to replace and my dishwasher was up and running. I saved $300 (to buy a new dishwasher), which was much needed. Plus the part was $30 less than anywhere else.
