How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP5985143 / W10811166 Panel-Cntl (Wht)

Replaced control panel 

I bought a new panel from AppliancePartsPros and promptly put a screw through the ribbon cable while doing a too quick install . . . I was very surprised to find out that the part was under warranty for ANY reason! What a deal! A new part was delivered lickety split and now it works fine! I'll definitely be back! 

Didn't want to guess what part to buy so I inquired on the website and appliancepartspros.com set me straight with a control panel and it was an easy install. Dishwasher runs like it should now. 

When I called they told me how to tell if old one was bad. I then order new part and it works like new. 

I took the old control panel off my dishwasher and saw that the cable was bad thus causing the buttons not to work properly. Sometimes there where lights on and sometimes they were all off and the dishwasher did not respond. I ordered the control panel on a Sunday evening had it by Wed. the install was just a matter of unscrewing all of the screws on the door panel, unscrewing the control panel, putting on the new control panel and putting all the screws back. Start to finish probably a 15-20 minute job and the dishwasher is now running like new. PS: I could not find the part listed on the website so I called the company, told the representative the part# and she found it for me. 

I replaced the part that I ordered from your company. 

Took apart the control panel, ordered a new one, and found it was not necessary to have taken it apart, as the 'part' was the entire control panel! Dishwasher works fine now. The only caveat was that the part listed as 'White' and not realizing it was the entire panel replacement, my black dishwasher now has a white control panel. Speed of delivery was excellent. My son actually did the repair so not sure of tools required. 

Replace front control panel 

I tore apart the dishwasher and forgot to take pictures because I really did not think I would be able to fix it. I received the part in less than 48 hours by FedEx. I stumbled my way through putting it back together with only one mistake. I screwed through the panel and luckily not through the electrical part of the panel. It was well worth fixing myself. I paid $95, Maytag wanted a minimum of $288 and a new dishwasher is $300 and up. Yeah me.
