Dennis August 17, 2017 for Model Number MDB8949SBW2 We can't select either Automatic or Normal cycles. When I press the Normal clean button Light Clean cycle is selected. When I press the Automatic button the Steam Clean cycle is selected. I have tried to reset it by disconnecting the power for 5min but that doesn't appear to make any difference. Will replacing the Control Panel fix these problems and allow me to select any cycle again?
1 Answer Dennis, This issue would most likely be caused by a faulty control panel which will be part number W10811166. Read More...
Van Garmon March 17, 2015 for Model Number MDB8949SBW1 Control panel is not working. Out of warranty. Technicians said it needed a new control panel- W10475785. They said we could do the repair ourselves and save some money. Any advice?
1 Answer Van, It is a relatively easy repair to make and we're sure you'll save quite a bit of money. You may have to go to the local hardware store or home improvement center first Pick up some "Torx" drivers or tips to remove the panel screws. Here are the basics : Unplug dishwasher or disconnect power. Open the dishwasher door. While supporting the control panel, remove six screws from the upper sides and center of the inner door panel. While continuing to support the control panel, close the door. Gently pull outward to disengage the control panel. The control panel will be connected with wires that may need to be disconnected to set the control panel down. Snap the retainer clips from the control board and disconnect the key pad ribbon from the control board and transfer the parts to the new control panel and reverse the procedure. Read More...
