How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6005648 / WP16910 Stand Mixer Tilt Head Hinge Pin

Solid tilt pin gently pressed into its home and all good. pressed in super easy. only concern i would have for long term is no locking clips or anything so if one were to push on the pin it will continue going thru and fall out again. Reasonably tight compression holding it in now but if i can put in in with one finger pushing, i can also push it out with one finger 

Locking lugs on the glass bowl worn, lugs on metal locking plate worn worse. Replaced locking plate, solved problem with metal bowl and glass bowl. Replacing hinge pin stopped side shake. 

Replace worn pin. 

I ordered the part, my husband put it in and it works just like new. A $11.00 part saved me $200.00 plus. 

I found the part that was needed super easy, ordered and received it very quickly. The mixer was purchased used with pin missing, but when it was replaced I found that the mixer wasn't any good, might have been why pin was missing.
