How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6008641 / WP35-2045 Lid Hinge Pin

It was easy when you get the right parts and the video was help full also 

A troubleshooting idea on the website suggested changing the drive belt. I ordered one and it shipped out quickly. I installed the belt in less than 10 minutes and the washer works good as new! 

Followed the video that was provided which was greatly appreciated. 

I ordered the motor at 4PM on Friday and it arrived by noon the next day, pretty amazing. The video showed all of the steps to replace the motor, it took less than an hour. About half of that time was cleaning as I went, the washer is 20 years old and I think that was the first time it was cleaned. It fired up on the first try and spun the wet clothes from the previous day. Very happy! Thanks Appliance Parts Pros. 

I used a putty knife to loosen the top part of the washer, pivoted it up and used a screwdriver to unscrew the hinge and hinge pin. It was easier with someone holding the top while I screwed everything back together. The lid works fine now. AppliancePartsPros video on Youtube is a must see if you want to do this in a few minutes or don't see it if you want this to be an ordeal. The trick is to loosen the top part that pivots up. 

Simple task. Just a little mechanical ability. For some, the hardest part is in raising the complete lid assembly if you don't know where to compress the spring retaining clips.

Had previously repaired with non-original parts. New genuine Whirlpool parts are a perfect fit and the repair video made it simple.
