Removed the screws, lifted the old lid out of the hinges. Replaced the hinges, set new lid in the hinges and replaced screws. Read more

The lid shut-off switch is located behind the lid How About That. I order the plastic ball the hold the lid in place plus the lid shut off switch. I watched the video that AppliancePartsPros.com has on how to replace the lid and the plastic balls. I removed the lid to get to the two philips head screws to remove that part of the shut-off switch. I took the new switch out of the package and compared it to the old switch. The parts arrived in a timely fashion. I was able to replace the valve and pressure switch in a relatively short time - about an hour. I replaced a broken part which attaches the hinge to the lid spring assembly and replaced both hinges which were twisted/bent. The springs themselves were ok but a part in the assembly had broken so one spring was shouldering the entire weight of the lid and the hinges had twisted. This machine is not that old and it seems as though the glass lid is a little too heavy for the hinges.
