How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6008175 / WP3372028 Detergent Lid Pin

Using the repair videos from Appliance Parts Pros, it was really easy to do. 

Replaced hinge pin on lid. Followed directions provided in Appliance Parts Pros video. Thanks! 

Put the new parts in I purchased from appliance parts pros, good as new. I used my pocket knife as the only tool. 

A quick Google search led me to the Appliance Part Pros website and their video showing a dishwasher soap dispenser with a broken spring. Without the spring, the detergent cup will not pop open during the wash cycle. I ordered the part and received it within a few days. After watching the repair video very carefully, I was able do the repair in just a few minutes, using only a flathead screwdriver. I have no skill at all in household repairs. The critical thing for me was watching the video several times to see exactly how the spring was installed. I am 100% satisfied with Appliance Parts Pros. 

New latch 

Ordered 2 parts & followed the video on your website. 

I took out the old pin and put the new pin. 

I used the percent chance on the troubleshooting guide to order the following parts; detergent lid spring and pin, latch kit and lastly the actuator spring. The parts were about 35 dollars with shipping and handling. I used the instructions provided by appliancepartspros.com. When I took it apart the first time a few pieces fell out. I put it back together and ran a cycle only to find out that the latch still did not open. It took about a hour the second time and I got everything in right and now it works just fine. 

Watched video on how to fix the pin that holds the door on. Very simple fix.
