How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6008076 / WP3356465 Pressure Switch (Dryer)

Replaced Water Level Pressure Switch on Kenmore washer. Simple procedure, 15 minutes max. And replaced Lid switch. Old one was worn from years of age and would not always engage. Possibly we could have continued to use the old switch by tightening it in place, but chose to replace as well. Replaced water level switch and cleaned wiring harness contacts 

Installed the part that you sent to me (By the was, I odered the part on Friday, September 5 and FexEx delivered it at 1:00 PM on Saturday, September 6. GREAT SERVICE.) in about 5 minutes. It is a very sinple project. Unplug the power cord, turn off the water, pull off the knob. Remove two little screws the hold the control console in place and lift it up. One little screw holds the part in place which is anchored in place by an offset stem. After removing the part, take off the electical contacts, (I used a small screwdriver to pry them up from the bottom rather then pulling on them). At this point, I reattached the electrical contacts onto the new part. Then I removed the hose from the old part and reattached it to the new part. I put the part in place, reattached it with the little screw, put the knob back on, secured the control console with two little screws, plugged the power cord in, and turned on the water. I set the control to heavy load. Worked like a charm. My wife and I did our happy dance.
