Strange things happen to rental property that the tenants seldom know anything about, like how a screw holding a glass plate protecting the range light was removed. Equally unknown was how that range light bulb was now only a base, the glass now totally missing.
It's often difficult to remove a base from an electrical socket, more so if it is a tiny one, like a 40W bulb. A venture to YouTube generally solves that problem, albeit, with more screws to remove in order to get to the socket.
Having model numbers for the device is a top priority too. Armed with the bulb base and part number it is just a matter of a Google search to find the part and a seller like AppliancePartsPros.com (except their automatic phone system was not working well that day, which led to an Internet Chat.) Ordered the part and to my surprise, it showed up the next afternoon and was installed the following day.
The light cover was misplaced and a new one was $250.00 because the glass is temperature resistant, a used one on eBay was $12.50 but luckily wasn't needed as the original was found where it was not supposed to be!
