When the new bulb didn't want to go in, I felt around and realized the base of the old bulb was still in there. With some effort I got it out and new bulb in, Light cover fit fine, but did not come with a screw to hold it in. That would have been helpful.

I ordered a new lens and holding bracket from AppliancePartsPros and got it within 3 days. How great is that? All fixed.

Strange things happen to rental property that the tenants seldom know anything about, like how a screw holding a glass plate protecting the range light was removed. Equally unknown was how that range light bulb was now only a base, the glass now totally missing. It's often difficult to remove a base from an electrical socket, more so if it is a tiny one, like a 40W bulb. Ordered the part and to my surprise, it showed up the next afternoon and was installed the following day. The light cover was misplaced and a new one was $250.00 because the glass is temperature resistant, a used one on eBay was $12.50 but luckily wasn't needed as the original was found where it was not supposed to be!
