How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP4135008 / D7824706Q Ice Maker

I replaced the Whirlpool IceMaker Kit. 

Repair went fine, no problem.This is the second I had to replace it because of leakage into the ice bucket. 

I installed a replacement ice maker from AppliancePartsPros.com and had ice in an hour. I ordered the part late afternoon and had it in 2 days. Now that’s fast shipping. Replaced the ice Maker. 

Decided to replace the ice maker and ran into issues finding a match. A.P.P. had the manufacturer’s part and a very helpful video. So not the cheapest, but confidence that we would be getting the right part and able to install. We ordered on a Saturday. Unit shipped Monday and Fed-Ex tracking number provided. It arrived Tuesday. Install as shown in the video. Minor issue, the lower mounting bracket was shaped differently; but, I was able to use the bracket from the old unit. An hour later, we had ice! 

It was an easy fix. I ordered a new ice maker. It came in a couple of days. I watched a YouTube video on how to replace it. It was 3 screws, unplug the connector and plug in a new one. It was simple and I was done in less than 20 min. I had ice within an hour. 

Our ice maker quit working on Saturday night. The next day around lunchtime we decided to order one through AppliancePartsPros.com. A half-hour after ordering, I walked into the kitchen and heard ice fall in the bucket. So far still working. But now we do have a backup ready. After watching the video it should be a cakewalk. Bought a new one. 

First ordered the icemaker unit. Easy install but still did not make ice. Next ordered the water valve. It was another easy install and now the unit makes ice. 

Placed jumper between T and H ports and module did not cycle. No contacts visible on back of module to check. Replaced entire ice maker. Very simple to accomplish other than difficult access due to freezer drawers don’t just pop out.
