How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP6008773 / WP37001042 Dryer Drum Support Roller

I turned off the power supply. Took a putty knife and raised the top. Took two 5/16 screws out. Pulled the front off after unplugging the door switch and light switch. Took four 5/16 screws out of the bulk head. Set it aside. Reached under and raised tension pulley to release the belt. Set the drum aside. Cleaned off remaining felt and glue from where the back felt had been, and the felt on the bulk head. Glued new ones on. Easy. Put the drum back on and saw 1/2 inch gap at top. Watched the how to video. I put them on backwards. I gently removed them and turned them around after gluing them again. Put it all back together. I replaced drum rollers, drum guides, and belt while I had it apart. Runs like a new one. The felt seal was my mistake but the whole project took an hour and a half at most. 

Replaced drum support wheels , drum glides. Motor pulley and belt tension pulley. Last I put new belt on. And in 2006 I paid 509.00. Replacement parts cost around 125.00. Runs like brand new. Parts came in two days standard. Oh and you do not have to replace motor. Can get motor pulley separate for around twenty five dollars. Manufacture say 

Removed panels per video, snap ring pliers are needed for the drum support rollers. 

I googled the problem I was having with the dryer. Then I watched a youtube video on how to take the dryer apart. The drum rollers looked bad and I also noticed that the dryer belt had a bad spot on it. AppliancePartsPros recommended to change the rollers, belt and idle pulley. So, I bought all three parts and it was cheaper than a service call from a repair man. I replaced the old with the new and no more noise while drying laundry. 

We watched the video on replacing the drum support roller and replaced ours - that was great and went as expected . It will still screech a little when we first turn on but then it stops after a short time. Thanks for the information , video and parts 

The belt that turns the drum was old and cracked, so I put on a new belt and it works great again! 

Replaced idler pulley, belt and rear rollers for drum.

Watched the helpful videos offered by Appliance Parts Pros, bought new belt, rollers and pads, then installed them. Repair went exactly as shown after I bought one tool used in video to remove c rings that hold rollers in place. Repair time took about an hour mainly because dryer was in very small condo closet and I was extra careful since I have not worked on a dryer before. 

I replaced rear rollers,front glides ,idler pulley and belt while I had it apart. The cabinet came apart slightly different than the video,but still it was very helpful and it was a breeze.
