Mike W Batavia , IL March 20, 2015 Appliance: Maytag Atlantis Washer MAV7600AWW A scretching when the brake would be applied and the drum would come to a stop I replaced the: brake stator, rotor, and snubber ring. I did need to remove the stator which allowed the spring to decompress. I used 2 C-clamps to control the force when it was removed. To re-secure all the components I stood on the stator to compress the 200lbs spring until the screws could take the load safely. The entire thing took about an hour to slowly go through everything. Thomas A Raleigh , NC June 13, 2016 Appliance: Maytag Top Loading Washer MAVT446AWW Drum rotating and squeaking during agitation and at the end of the spin cycle I replaced the brake rotor and brake stator. Since these parts are integral to the snubber ring, I replaced it too. Though I'm a master auto mechanic, I've never worked on a washing machine before. But now that I'm retired, I've got the time and wanted to save the labor cost. So, I just watched the video on YouTube on the snubber replacement, which took me step by step for that. I added a few steps to the whole process to get the brake rotor out. One suggestion I have for others is to just take the transmission pulley off. It makes the whole job much less frustrating and adds less than a minute. I know I save a good 20 minutes of frustration by removing the pulley. The parts I ordered fit perfectly!! What a great experience. I just wish my wife was a bit more appreciative. Of course, she wanted a new machine! I told her it was like new!! Hahahahaha! Jeff S Bradenton , FL January 02, 2019 Maytag washer was making a squeaking noise during the agitation cycle and when it stopped it squeaked louder I took the machine apart and installed a new brake rotor , Brake stator and a snubber ring, after the install the machine works great and no more squeaking. I will say one thing about AppliancePartsPros.com that when I first received the order the brake rotor was new in the sealed bag but the brake material wasn't attached to it, customer service was helpful and sent me a new part the next day. I will use this company again. Read More... 6 People found this story helpful Do-It-Yourself Rating: Repair Time Estimate: 1-2 hours Tools: Nut Drivers, Pliers, Wrench Set
