How to Troubleshoot & Replace Whirlpool AP5984180 / 339392V Lint Screen

Replace Switch new push on connectors, New belt, cleaned. Worked well back in service. Only complaint would be it took a week to get here. Usually delivery is very fast. 

We were able to order another screen even though we had this Whirlpool dryer for over 25 years. 

Replace with new one

We bought a new screen to replace the clogged one. 

Bought a new one and put it in. 

Ordered new lint screen from Appliance Parts Pros via Amazon, inserted replacement part. Super-easy. 

I pulled out the old filter and put the new one in. 

Purchased new lint screen. 

Ordered a new lint screen which was a genuine Whirlpool part. It was a perfect fit. Also cleaned dryer duct hose and vent to outside. Dryer is more efficient, clothes are more lint free and duct work is free of debris and potential fire risk. I highly recommend Annual inspection of dry lint screen, duct work and vent damper. Replace all worn parts with genuine manufacturer's parts when possible and secure all duct work with proper clamps and fasteners. Don't compromise on proper maintenance and repairs.
